Director’s Message

The Southeast Center for Photographic Studies meets the challenges of a rapidly changing creative environment with a program that stresses the fundamental aspects of photography, the highest level of technical proficiency and professional judgment, providing a broad understanding of the techniques, ideas and skills needed in the profession today. The Center’s faculty and staff affirms and nurtures the creative spirit of each individual and provides the aesthetic, technical and intellectual basis necessary as a foundation for a wide variety of professional careers or advanced studies. A major goal of the faculty, as practicing photographers and scholars, is to impart an understanding of the lifelong vitality of artistic growth and practice.

If you are seeking small classes and a personal college atmosphere, we invite you to visit our campus and discover for yourself the energy that fills the Center’s classrooms, labs and studios. With our Associates of Science in Photographic Technology Degree students may easily transfer to the University of Central Florida to continue their studies in the Bachelor of Science in Photography Degree. Our seamless and integrated program is designed for success in a variety of photographic fields.

We invite each prospective student to visit The Southeast Center for Photographic Studies for an hour-long conversation about the program. Please call or email Professor Biferie for an appointment at 386-506-3581 or biferid@DaytonaState.edu.
